If you are still wondering why you always have to wear your helmet when riding your ATV/UTV, this article will help you clear those doubts. At Time to Ride AZ, we care about your safety. Remember, safety involves your compromise.
Think about the places you are going to be riding on – these aren’t flats. The trails can include rocks, deep ruts, and trees. The ground’s natural surface is not always level.
Here some benefits of wearing a helmet while riding an ATV/UTV
Helps prevent serious head injury, it’s important to check it fits you properly.
Improves your visibility, since your eyes are protected from the dust and wind.
Reduce the possibility of a brain injury by 85%. During a fall or collision the helmet absorbs most of the impact energy.
How does a helmet work?
Helmets designed to handle major crash energy and generally contain a layer of crushable foam. When you crash and hit a hard surface, the foam part of a helmet crushes, controlling the crash energy and extending your head’s stopping time by about six thousandths of a second (6 ms) to reduce the peak impact to the brain. Rotational forces and internal strains are likely to be reduced by the crushing.
